چکیده

Using the piecewise monotone property, we give a full description of non-monotonicity height of PM functions with a single fort on compact interval. This method is also available for general PM functions with finitely many forts, as well as those functions defined on the whole real line. Finally, we obtain a sufficient and necessary condition for the finite non-monotonicity height by characteristic interval.

Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation methodology for decision making with a prioritization of criteria

Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs), a generalization of fuzzy sets, is characterized by an interval-valued membership function, an interval-valued non-membership function. The objective of this paper is to deal with criteria aggregation problems using IVIFSs where there exists a prioritization relationship over the criteria.Based on the ${L}$ukasiewicz triangular norm, we first p...

Resource-monotonicity and Population-monotonicity in Connected Cake-cutting

In the classic cake-cutting problem (Steinhaus, 1948), a heterogeneous resource has to be divided among n agents with different valuations in a proportional way — giving each agent a piece with a value of at least 1/n of the total. In many applications, such as dividing a land-estate or a time-interval, it is also important that the pieces are connected. We propose two additional requirements: ...

Maintenance management decision model for preventive maintenance strategy on production equipment

In industries, Preventive Maintenance (PM) is not a new practice to minimise the sudden breakdown of production machine. PM will be performed at predetermine intervals to provide a balance between failure cost and component utilisation (aging). However, most of PM interval is based on experience or original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations. Consequently, the benefits from PM are not...

A Global Optimization Method for Solving Parametric Linear Systems Whose Input Data Are Rational Functions of Interval Parameters

An interval global optimization method combined with the Direct Method for solving parametric linear systems is used for computing a tight enclosure for the solution set of parametric linear system whose input data are non-linear functions of interval parameters. Revised affine arithmetic is used to handle the nonlinear dependencies. The Direct Method performs the monotonicity test to speed up ...

Static Monotonicity Analysis for λ-Definable Functions over Lattices

We employ static analysis to examine monotonicity of functions defined over lattices in a λ-calculus augmented with constants, branching, meets, joins and recursive definitions. The need for such a verification procedure has recently arisen in our work with a static analyzer generator called Zoo, in which the specification of static analysis (input to Zoo) consists of finite-height lattice defi...
